I am introducing advertising tor this site to generate income and keep it viable. Advertising must also enhance the site. It is meant as a service to music collectors and the small (tiny) businesses that serve them. I recognized that web site ads can be annoying, distracting and even dangerous if not controlled carefully so I have created this policy to prevent that from happening here.
- All ads will be hosted on this site and approved by me personally. I will not use cookies to run third-party ads or collect information about users.
- I will only run ads for products or services that may be of interest to this site's users; for example record stores, musical instrument stores, bands, venues for live music, radio shows, community radio stations or music related podcasts.
- Ads will be static (not animated), so no videos, sounds or distracting movements. Ads will not cause content on the page to move unexpectedly.
- Absolutely NO pop-ups.
- Ads must be in good taste and meet community standards at my sole discretion.
- No click bait. An ad cannot contain a link or QR code that leads to content that is inappropriate, suspicious or does not relate to the ad. Any ad found on this site with such a link will be taken down without compensation.
- Any page with advertising will also contain a prominently displayed link allowing users who have a complaint, concern or question about the validity of any ad to contact me directly.
In many respects, advertising here will be like print ads. They are there for readers to look at if they are interested, not shouting and waving like a bunch of carny barkers and generally taking over the page.
